Should we stay with make? Or should we use autotools? Well, CMake could also be an option, although I don't like it much. Anyway, if anyone has some good thoughts on why one build system is better than another, please share those thoughts.

For what I know:

• Make is considered more KISS than the others
• Proponents of other systems argue that they make things easier for packagers
• Some systems also make portability easier than others
